Philosophy of VNP

AT CHSC, we believe that:

Excellent nursing education is the key to providing high-quality, inclusive, student-focused, and affordable allied health education that enables diverse students to be competent, confident, and employment-ready in the community that we serve. At the end of the VN program, the students will be prepared to provide safe and quality healthcare, prevent illness, and promote well-being among patients, families, and communities. Each student is unique and needs to learn new information and skills to reach his/her educational goal. Individual student has his/her learning potential and approach that are driven by their unique culture, values, beliefs, environment, and life experiences. CHSC VNP Philosophy identifies a set of core values that reflect the faculty’s beliefs about Maslow’s Hierarchy of human needs, the nature of the nursing process, conceptual framework, communication, and education. The core values identified for team building and a successful learning environment include:

  • Respect and dignity for staff, peers, and patients.
  • Integrity and reasonable Fairness.
  • Accountability and Responsibility for actions.
  • Quality service to patients, employers, and the community that we serve.
  • Excellent and creative work environment.
  • Innovation, research, change, and foresight in decision-making.
  • Humor and fun to motivate success.
