Program Information and Students Schedules

California healthcare skills center (CHSC) is an institution that is designed to train Nurse Assistants and Home Health Aides to provide safe and quality patient care. CHSC offers a flexible 6-week day class that starts Monday – Thursday from 11:30am to 8pm and weekend program from 8am to 4.30pm.

Initial Registration Process

  • Obtain and read NATP student handbook
  • Complete NATP registration form
  • Complete background check release form
  • Complete and sign enrollment agreement/evidence of understanding forms
  • Provide a copy of US issued GED/High school diploma or its equivalent (for international students)
  • Provide a copy of a valid photo ID/passport
  • Original Social Security Card
  • $250 application fee (non-refundable)
  • Complete medical/physical exam within 14 days of the start
    of clinical
  • Complete TB screening within 14 days of start of clinical
  • Proof of flu shot (required from October 1 to March 31st), if proof cannot be provided, student shall wear mask during clinical per clinical nursing facility policy

Our approach

California Healthcare Skills Center (CHSC) prepares and assists students to sit for NATP certification exams. A student who successfully completes a course of study will develop knowledge, basic nursing skills, and be awarded an appropriate Nurse Assistant Certificates from CHSC and CDPH.

CHSC Goals :

Follow CDPH approved curriculum, modules, lesson plan, and clinical skills in compliance with state and federal regulations.
prepare students to:

  1. Complete the approved courses successfully and graduate with 75% of the enrolled students.
  2. Complete the national board examination with a passing score of 75% or above by 90% of the graduates.
  3. Complete the state practical examination with a passing grade of 90% within three attempts.
  4. Motivate 100% of the graduates to secure employment within 6 months of graduation.
  5. Enhance ethics of the nursing profession.
  6. Promote lifelong professional growth and development through participation in professional organizations and continuing education.
  7. Assume leadership roles in promoting practices to meet the changing healthcare needs of the community.

Cost is $1,600 if paid in full on the first day of class. We offer the opportunity for our students to make payment plan.  We require a part of the program’s cost on the first day of class with the remainder paid off by the mid and/or end of the class.  The student will not be given a completion certificate until the payment is received in full. Cost for making a payment plan is $1,700. The cost covers Theory and clinical training, books, equipment, medical and physical exam, and CPR (Basic Life Support -BLS), $250 registration fee(non-refundable) and miscellaneous expenses are included in the cost of the program. *Live scan and CA board exam fee is Not included.
